posted 12 Oct 2016, 07:25 by Bexley Mencap   [ updated 20 Dec 2016, 01:48 ]

Lots of parent carers have been in touch with us about looking into housing for their sons and daughters. We have produced a survey to help us find out what kind of housing people are looking for and when they think they might need housing. You can access the survey here. All the personal information will be treated as confidential and for numerical purposes only unless you agree to your information being shared. There is a box to tick about this at the end of the survey.  There is an Easy Read leaflet which we produced for the Council a couple of years ago which is attached to this news item

Please support our own "Marathon Man"

posted 18 Mar 2016, 08:30 by Bexley Mencap

We are really delighted and very grateful to Alex Barette who is running in the London Marathon on 24th April to raise much needed funds for Bexley Mencap.  Just to be able to complete the 26.2 miles of a standard marathon requires some serious training over a period of months … and in all weathers!

Please do help to reward Alex’s efforts on our behalf by sponsoring him as generously as you can:

In Alex’s own words: “After three years of running the Great North Run half marathon I've decided to go all in for the full distance and run the London Marathon this year. Training is going well, and I would be very pleased with any time of four hours or under.  My mum, Mary, has been involved as a Friend of Bexley Mencap for the last five years and I know what great work they do.  I am proud to be running in support of such a worthy local charity.  My fundraising page is and any amount of sponsorship given would be gratefully received.”

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for Alex on the day!
