Our holiday by Sam Smith

posted 12 Aug 2014, 02:59 by Bexley Mencap

On Friday 13 June 2014, Jane picked me and Adam up at our flat.  We all me in Mencap at 10.0, left at 11.0 and got the bus down to Bexleyheath train station then we all got the train to London Bridge.  We got on the train to St. Leonards on Sea then we all got off the train then got taxis to Combe Haven.  I went with a friend to check in to get the caravan and we all sat outside the pub and had some drink.  We all went to open up the two caravans.  Some of the girls unpacked.  The boys’ caravan did not open as the people in the check in gave them the wrong key.  Jane helped the boys with their caravan then some of us had a cup of tea then some of the group went swimming.  When we got back we had another cup of tea while Dionne went to get the fish and chips which was our dinner then we all got ready for the evening entertainment.

On Saturday me and Adam were meant to be going out with our family but they had a problem with their car.  We all went down to Hastings for the day.  We all had a look around the shops, some of us did Karting.  We went back to the caravans and some of the group went swimming again.  Then we had some food in the restaurant and then we all went clubbing again.  Two of our members did an activity called Water Walkers.

On Sunday, we all did some activities like archery, target shooting and roller disco.  We all went down to the other arcades.

On Monday, we all had breakfast and did our lunch for the train.  We all helped to clear away and packed our lunch for the train.  Then we packed Dionne’s car with the luggage.  We all tried out this big deckchair and Jane took some pictures.  We all walked down to the pitch and putt but it was closed so we sat and had a good old chat and one of our members rolled down the small hill!

I loved my big room as I had my en-suite toilet and hand sink – it was so cool I did not want to come home.  Adam did as he slept in the front room!

Thank you Jane and Dionne
