Respect group member Katherine took part in a Beyond Words BILD webinar on 10th September about people with learning disabilities getting older and living happy healthy lives.
Over 60 healthcare and social care professionals attended from across the UK. They learnt how Beyond Words books can inform and shape conversations about real-life topics and the power and importance of the clubs themselves in helping to address issues of interest to people with a learning disability.
Katherine showed the audience how book clubs work by taking part in a reading session from a book about personal hygiene. She was also invited to join the panel, answering a question at the Q&A session at the end.
Feedback from the session was very positive with many attendees saying how much they enjoyed the event and the relevance of the subjects discussed.
