A support group for parents and carers of people with learning disability

Carers United is a small group of local carers who have come together to support each other and work to improve things for all carers of a person with a learning disability in Bexley.

We know how hard it is to be a lifelong carer for your son, daughter, brother, sister or other relative with a learning disability.  It’s even harder without good quality, up to date information and support from fellow carers in the same situation.

We meet on the second Monday of each month at Bexley Mencap’s offices in Bexleyheath to talk about things which are important to us, invite people to give presentations and take some time out to relax. We also work to improve services for all carers and those we care for, such as:

  • Developed a Carers’ Emergency Plan
  • Respond to draft Carers’ strategies
  • Promote Carers’ Week
  • Attend the Learning Disability Partnership Board
  • Attend the Carers’ Partnership Board

We are always happy to welcome new members to the group so please get in touch for more information
