Our first-ever Summer Sports Festival at Danson Park was a huge success, with around 200 people joining us throughout the day to enjoy the activities, entertainment, and community atmosphere. We’re still finalising donations, but we’re delighted to share that the event has already raised more than £2,000 which is an incredible result for a first-year event.
The festival featured a range of traditional fete and carnival games, which were enjoyed by children and adults alike. Visitors also had the opportunity to meet a variety of local charities and community organisations, learn more about the support and services they provide, enjoy live music, and tuck into some great food and refreshments. The watersports activities on the lake proved particularly popular, with many people taking the opportunity to try something new and get involved.
As well as raising valuable funds, the event helped raise awareness of our work within the local community and brought together businesses, community groups, supporters, volunteers, and families for a fantastic day. The support we received through sponsorship, event management, donations, and attendance was truly outstanding and played a huge part in making the festival such a success.
A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, whose generosity helped make the event possible, as well as our incredible team and volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes and on the day itself. Thank you also to everyone who came along, got involved, and supported the event.
For a first-time festival, we couldn’t have asked for a better start. We’re already exploring whether we can make the Summer Sports Festival an annual event and bring it back even bigger and better next year. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable day.
