We are delighted to be working with London Ambulance Service on a new project to better understand the experiences of people with a learning disability when using ambulance services.
We are one of only three organisations across London chosen to take part in this important piece of work, which will help shape how this vital service works in the future.
Why this matters
For many people with a learning disability and their families, contacting an ambulance can be stressful and urgent. It’s important that services understand what works well and where improvements are needed.
We want to hear directly from:
- Unpaid and family carers
- Paid carers and support staff
- People with a learning disability
Have your say

We will also be running in-person workshops for both carers and people with a learning disability. These sessions will give people the opportunity to share experiences in more detail and help shape practical recommendations.
See the bottom of the page for details of workshops.
What will happen next?
We will:
- Gather feedback from as many people as possible
- Identify key themes and areas for improvement
- Share our findings
- Make clear, practical recommendations to London Ambulance Service
The more people who share their experiences, the stronger the recommendations will be. If you know someone who could contribute, please encourage them to get involved.
